"Making the unknown known"
Dr Roberta Babb
I am an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist, BPC-registered Forensic Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, and ABP Certified Business Psychologist working across clinical, organisational, and public contexts.
My work focuses on helping individuals and systems make sense of complexity in personal, professional, and public life. Drawing on over two decades of experience, I bring psychological depth and clarity to what is often difficult to name, understand, or work through.
Alongside my clinical and organisational work, I contribute to media and public conversations, offering psychological insight into the issues shaping contemporary life.
I have worked across a range of settings, including mental health services, forensic environments, organisational and corporate contexts, and the media.
Alongside my clinical practice, I work with organisations, leadership teams, and professionals navigating challenge, responsibility, and change. I also contribute to public and media discussions, offering psychological insight into the issues shaping contemporary life.
My work includes delivering training and seminars on psychological practice, identity, and complexity within clinical and organisational contexts, including contributions to national and international audiences.
Recent work includes the development and delivery of the Deepening Inclusive Practice programme, alongside ongoing contributions to training, supervision, and public-facing education.
I am also a Board Member for The International Association of Forensic Psychotherapy (IAFP) 2024-2027.
I work with individuals, professionals, institutions, organisations and companies across a range of contexts. While the settings and focus may differ, the work is grounded in a consistent psychological approach, with an emphasis on understanding complexity, developing insight, and supporting meaningful and sustainable change.
At the core of my work is a commitment to curiosity, integrity, and psychological depth. I am interested in understanding what sits beneath experience, and in creating space for reflection, exploration, and meaningful dialogue.
I aim to create environments that feel thoughtful, containing, and psychologically safe, where individuals and groups can engage with complexity without fear of judgement. This includes working with difficult or uncomfortable material, and supporting the development of greater awareness, resilience, and capacity.
My work is grounded in a respect for difference, a recognition of shared human experience, and a commitment to equity and justice. I pay close attention to the ways in which identity, power, and context shape experience, and I support individuals and organisations to engage with these dynamics in a way that is reflective, responsible, and grounded in real-world impact.
Across all areas of my work, I value clarity, authenticity, and collaboration. I aim to bring both challenge and support, helping people think more deeply, relate more effectively, and develop approaches that are both psychologically informed and practically sustainable.
I work with individuals seeking a space to think more deeply about themselves.
I have delivered teaching and training at postgraduate and doctoral level, and contribute to professional development through CPD programmes, workshops, and invited talks.
I provide consultation to individuals, organisations and leadership teams seeking to think more clearly about complex challenges, including culture, dynamics, decision-making, and change.
I contribute to media and public-facing work, offering psychological insight into behaviour, relationships, and the social issues shaping contemporary life.
